Es Trenc (Campos)

Es Trenc (Campos)

Campos is a Spanish town and municipality located in the southern part of Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands. On the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, this municipality borders those of Lluchmayor, Porreras, Felanich, Santañí and Las Salinas. The bell-ring municipality includes the population centers of Campos, La Rápita (sa Ràpita), Alto de la Rápita (Dalt de sa Ràpita), El Paraíso (sa Vinyola), Las Covetas (ses Covetes), La Sorda (sa Sorda) and The Palmer (it's Palmer). The town was founded at the beginning of the fourteenth century, derived from the Ordinations of Jaime II of Mallorca, when the main towns of the island were established. The origin of the place name of the municipality predates the Muslim conquest. The town's coat of arms is made up of a bear raised in reddish tones on a silver background. The economy of this municipality has been linked since its foundation to agriculture. Their lands are fertile so that, until a few years ago, an agriculture based on irrigated crops was developed. Currently the two coastal centers have been developed from the old recreational centers of the inhabitants of the town.
